In the house in a heartbeat

Her eyes opened but she didn't move. Letting her eyes blink a few times to get used to the lighting and coming back in focus. It smelled musty, the ground was dusty and her surroundings were old; a contrast to where she had been a week ago. Despite the contrast it had an all too eerie feel of deja vu. She had been here in these situations not too long ago, she didn't move as she let her senses slowly come back, her brain working hard as she calmed her breathing. If she gave in to the pounding heart in her chest and the frantic thoughts racing through her head she would go into a panic attack and she was not about to do that here.

Sitting up she noticed the tiled walls, to her left were rows of other people. Some familiar faces, some and most she had never seen before. Despite being kidnapped yet again like a helpless princess from a video game one thing put her at ease; she was finding more and more people with abilities. It might have been a bad idea to put everyone together, it gave a resource they hadn't previously had, a support group for the supernaturally gifted? At first she was silent, looking at everyone, watching and listening to how they acted and spoke. She got up to check her surroundings and of course; another fucking force field.

The familiar face, the face she recognized the most and could pick out from any crowd was close yet so far away. Then, the man she despised more than anyone else in her world was there. He was right there, talking it up and flirting. Trying to be charming and suave when really it made Danica want her strength back to break the force field and use his head to break through the other. Or drown him in his own water; possibly dehydrate him to death. She wasn't a bad person but sometimes her anger took her places, took her mind to scary thoughts she didn't know she could muster up.

Using her link to the one person on the outside she could communicate with to tell them she was taken and what she knew. Not much was known, but what she could gather as everyone spoke amongst each other was what she relayed back to him. Trains, abilities, objects people had, plans. Anything she thought that could be useful in letting them know where everyone was, how everyone was doing and how it was transpiring she relayed back. She didn't know what was happening outside, what was being used with the information, if anyone else was told or not but she was willing to try.

When it came time for the fight, she let them know it was happening. They were being pitted against each other and if they did not comply there would be consequences. She left out the details of what was happening to who and when, only when it started and when the last group finished. Blocking them out of when she got hurt, when she went flying around essentially the ring they were held in when she refused to fight or when she started to look tired and ready to back down. She held her own as much as she could, she could take the beating better than last time; trying to console her sparring partner as the other regretted hitting Danica. It had to be done, and she wasn't willing to let her or the rabbit get hurt.

It was time to focus, she would hold no ill will against the other, it wasn't her choosing. She wasn't mind controlled but it always wasn't her fault. The stamina and reflexes far outweighed Danica's without her full abilities. Then that satchel, she was hit with weapons and objects, there was only so long durability could last against an attack that wouldn't end for two hours. It didn't help that she had no food or water in her system and she was ready to give out on herself; but she endured. By the time she and her sparring buddy were done Danica fell to her knees and leaned back against the wall.

She remained awake, exhausted but unable to sleep. She was quiet and observant as the next group fought, followed by the next. Increments of two hours each fight. She had fought off sleep and pain before. Hell last week she walked herself from the holding location to a hospital and waited all day until she was released later that night. She was however, fully done with being kidnapped. Once it was all over and the full-scale escape plan was set into motion she got a second wind. The home stretch of getting the fuck out of here and going home was what drove her to follow any plan and do what she could to help the group as a whole escape.

She wasn't sure what time it was when they broke free, could have asked for a watch to be pulled from the satchel or someone with the phone or ipad, but she didn't care. Her movements were slower as she walked through the tunnels to the exit. She didn't say much to anyone at that time, maybe a small quip of a joke to keep morale up as they were in the home stretch. Her best friend not far from her; not for her friend's sake, more for her own sanity. Upon feeling the fresh air against her skin she gave her best friend a hug and met up with the familiar face she had been communicating with. She wrapped her arms around their waist, head to their chest as she closed her eyes and held tightly for a few moments. Her eyes opened and she let go of them. Looking at the food she smirked up at them and took a piece of bacon and began eating it. She stuck around only long enough to figure out what Sonja's plans were and that she was going to be alright before heading off herself.
